responsible purchasing

Over recent years our buying policy has been proactively influenced by the environmental responsibility of trading in timber. Brooksfloor’s environment commitment is explained fully in these two documents:

Where possible, product is sourced from proven and sustainable forests.

Timber Development UK

Timber Development UK

Timber Development UK was formed in 2021 from the merger of two of the largest and longest established organisations in the supply chain, the Timber Trade Federation (TTF) and Timber Research and Development Association (TRADA). By bringing these two associations together, TDUK has become the largest; most comprehensive supply chain body in the UK, spanning from sawmill to specifier and all points in between. As an organisation, TDUK seeks to connect the supply chain, lead best practice, and accelerate a low-carbon future; empowering timber design, and acting as an agent of change towards more sustainable, low carbon forms of construction.

FSC®

Brooks Bros is committed to supplying certified timber products where chain of custody can be verified and holds full Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody certification. The same applies to recycled timbers - the FSC Recycled Label guarantees reclaimed timber is sourced from 100% genuine post-consumer waste.

PEFC

Our Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) scheme certifications provides assurance to purchasers that we are promoting the sustainable management of forests.
